NTA starts counselling for NEET-UG 2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday, 20 March, started counselling for NEET-UG 2023. Candidates who have qualified in the exams can check the special rounds seat matrix on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in.

The counselling will be conducted in four rounds including a mop-up round. The first round of counselling will conclude on 10 August. Candidates will have to register for the counselling on the MCC website.

The NEET-UG 2023 exams were held on 12 September. The results were announced on 16 November. Over 18 lakh candidates appeared for the exams this year.

The counselling process for NEET-UG 2023 has been delayed due to a series of legal challenges. The Supreme Court had earlier ordered the NTA to conduct a re-examination for the candidates who were affected by the paper leak. However, the NTA later decided to conduct a counselling for all the candidates who have qualified in the exams.
